About me

I’m Ekaterina Tairova, а registered dietitian, focused on prevention and dietary treatment of various health issues, as well as plant-based diets.

My goal is to help as many people as possible find their personal balance with food without sacrificing taste. Despite the name of the profession implying the creation of diets, I believe that true success is achieved only when you learn to follow the principles of balanced nutrition tailored to your needs without any rigid schema.

In my view, it’s important to convey the message that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring, repetitive, or overly restrictive. Eating well is a daily pleasure that contributes to our wellbeing, and we absolutely shouldn’t give it up!

The Blog

The blog section stems from my passion for science communication, with the aim of making research findings on healthy lifestyle more accessible, with a particular focus on nutrition, by offering clear and understandable content for everyone. In this space, I try to explore topics that I consider most complex, controversial, and fascinating.

One of the reasons I believe this information should be shared with a wide audience is that we often limit ourselves to thinking about food merely as a source of energy and macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats). In reality, everything we introduce into our body through eating and drinking is composed of a myriad of different bioactive compounds, each with potential beneficial or harmful effects on our health.

Main Topics

  • Optimal and balanced nutrition in all its aspects.
  • The role of nutrition in primary prevention and management of multiple diseases.
  • Other components of a healthy lifestyle, including physical activity, abstinence from smoking and alcohol, sleep, stress management, social relationships, and connection with nature.
  • The impact of lifestyle on epigenetic modifications, gut microbiota, chronic inflammation, and aging processes.

My Background

  • Degree in Dietetics, University of Rome La Sapienza (110/110 with honors). Thesis: “Association between different dietary patterns and body composition, metabolic and inflammatory profile”.
